I am an Icelandic artist and ceramist living in Luxembourg and Belgium.

My background is in visual arts and painting but clay as a medium has always interested me for its tactility and the many possibilities it offers. Think of the transformation it undergoes from a soft (easily) manipulated material to a stone-like concrete piece. I make mostly handbuilt unique pieces trying to find the right balance between organic fluid forms and how far you can push/stretch the clay.

I am mostly self-taught as a ceramist, however reading, following courses and workshops over the years have been a tremendous help. I also love cooking and many of the functional pieces I have made originally for my own kitchen.

The last years I have been trying out different techniques such as throwing on the wheel and slip casting. Alternative firing methods such as raku, naked raku and smoke-firing are still my favorites, not only for the esthetics but especially because of the unpredictability and the surprise that awaits when opening the kiln.
